Hamburg Squeezes Into Regions Over Mayer

The Hawks took game two in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Mayer. The game was tied at four with the Hawks batting in the bottom of the fifteenth when Justin Perlich squeeze bunt turned into a single on the first pitch of the at bat. The Hawks will now advance to the Region 7 tournament and will play Waconia at Hamburg on Thursday night.
Hamburg evened things up at four in the bottom of the ninth inning when an error scored two runs.
Spencer Nelson got the win for Hamburg Hawks. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Will Hoernemann threw six and a third innings in relief striking out 10 Blazers. Ryan Spengler started the game for Hamburg Hawks. The lefty lasted seven and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out seven.
Hamburg Hawks collected seven hits on the day. Perlich and Craig “Pookie” Alvarez each racked up multiple hits for Hamburg Hawks.
